on earth as it is in Heaven.

The story of Katie Davis inspires me beyond words. The 22 year old from Brentwood, TN lives in Uganda and has custody of 14 beautiful girls. She is LIVING OUT the gospel in the slums of her community and pouring of Christ's love on the unlovable.

People who are fully alive look out of their minds to those who simply exist.

Because of the Lord's GREAT LOVE for us...

we are NOT consumed, for His compassions never fail.
They are new every morning; GREAT is Your faithfulness!
-Lamentations 3:22-23

PRAISE the Lord for this truth! As I sit here in my room in Lake Wales wondering why all of my stuff is here and not in Gainesville where it's been for the past four years, I'm reminded of the Lord's faithfulness in the midst of my confusion. Graduating from the University of Florida was one of the most exciting accomplishments of my life, but leaving the incredible friends and sisters I have been blessed with was heart breaking. Moving out of my apartment and away from my best friends has definitely been a challenge, but praise the Lord that I don't have to be consumed by sadness and I can still claim victory in His name.

Two weeks from today, I'll head to Atlanta for FCC Leadership weekend and workweek. I'm so pumped to see the ways that the Lord works this summer through the Fellowship of Christian Cheerleaders staff. As we embark on the summer of Ambush (our theme, based on the book The Barbarian Way by Erwin McManus - READ IT. Seriously. It will change and challenge your view on your faith in ways you hadn't even considered!) the Lord is challenging me to expect GREAT things of Him and surrender to the ways that He wants to move in and through the FCC staff. I'm blessed to be a part of the FCC family and the work the Lord is doing there!

So, on to the reason for this blog. From Sept 22 - Dec 19, 2010 I will be serving in Worcester, South Africa (said Wvoo-ster) under the covering of the YWAM - Youth With A Mission - base there. I'll be substitute teaching in the local public schools, volunteering in the prayer room and leading a small group bible study as well as building relationships with the people in the community. God is already stirring in the hearts of the people of Worcester in HUGE ways and I am ecstatic to be a part of His work there! This is something I have been praying about for well over a year now and I am encouraged to see everything falling into place and know that I'm following the call the Lord is placing in my heart.

Thank you for supporting me and partnering with me as I seek Jesus and His crazy plan for my life! God is so SO good.
